He'd brought a lot to the sport-- he'd brought it to an immense level of popularity. It's like Zidane-- a guy who brought a lot to his sport and played on an extraordinary level, but for many people he'll mostly he'll just be remembered for the final act of his career. Jordan won't just be remembered for the Washington fiasco, but it was just a terrible way for him to go out.Johnny Yenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06561248220244037567noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32391773.post-70981407483313372792006-09-15T11:39:00.000-05:002006-09-15T11:39:00.000-05:00I'm afraid I can't agree with you here, Johnny. T...I'm afraid I can't agree with you here, Johnny. The differences are extreme. Jordan retired 3 times, Favre hasn't retired once. The first 2 times Jordan retired he was the reigning NBA Champ, 3 times in a row each time, totaling 6 championships. Favre has 1. At the time of each of those retirements Jordan was the best player in the NBA. Hands down. Jordans final 2 years in Washington are, admitedly, forgetable, especially for Bulls fans. But he did do some good, including revitalizing a dead franchise and increasing ticket sales throughout the league. He was still popular and loved. Favre does none of that.Philhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10346141872333392855noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32391773.post-57427418478807080332006-09-15T08:31:00.000-05:002006-09-15T08:31:00.000-05:00Favre is obviously taking the "Micheal Jordan" app...Favre is obviously taking the "Micheal Jordan" approach to retirement-- keep playing until you look pathetic and everybody hates you.Johnny Yenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06561248220244037567noreply@blogger.com
