My Daughter and I.

So I've had this beard for about a year and a half.  It's an alright beard.  The best I've ever grown.  I've been trying to grow a beard since I was old enough to grow hair on my chin.  It hasn't always been pretty.  But I've tried for acouple of reasons:
  1.  I hate to shave.  Hate it.  Dragging a razor across my face once a day just isn't any fun for me.
  2. The wife likes it.  Don't ask me why.
  3. I guess there's only two.
But this really isn't about my beard.

What I really want to know is, by having a beard, am I insuring my daughter will always go for guys with beards?

my dad always had a beard and I never went for guys with beards. I never remember my dad not having a beard actually...

I can't grow a beard to save me life-- at least not sideburns, I always get this shitty, billy goats gruff crap.

As for the daughter stuff-- I never even thought about it. Will MY daughter's go for men with goatees?? Jeez, now you got me thinking...

No on the beard, but just by having you as a father means she will grow up and hate men.

Dirty - Committed to his beard. I like that.

Cap'n - Yeah, see, makes you wonder. But is it better if I shave?

Dave - Tell me something I don't know.

Warning: If you keep the beard and then one day decide to shave it, your kids may freak out and not recognize you.

It happened to someone I know. His kid wouldn't go near him for days. Seriously.

My dad always had a beard and I don't like beards because it's like being attracted to my dad. Ew. I'd say her two older brothers are going to be the biggest influence on the kind of men she'll like.

dave's cousin lisa says - My dad always had/has a mustache & beard --- in the summer he'll shave the beard but ALWAYS has the stash--- one day he shaved it (I was in HS!!!) and it completely freaked me out cuz he looked EXACTLY like my uncle -- he wasn't my dad anymore!!! I am so utterly and completely NOT interested in men with beards/moustaches--- my husband gets scruff and I hate it - he has to shave (besides the look of it - I never liked feeling it on my face for a kiss) So hope that helps answer your question a bit.

Saw this after checking you out on Twitter (that's why I'm so late on the comment). My dad could NOT grow a beard to save his life...he got a Shaggy (as in Scooby Doo and...) going a couple of times. He didn't have chest hair either. Just not a hairy dude.

I grew up and married a hairy, hairy man with a full beard. SO, I'd say you're ensuring your daughter will go for the clean shaven type.

Stacy - Thanks for coming by and commenting. I'm in constant fear of what psychosis I'm creating in my children. Now you have me worried, do I want her to marry a hairy or non-hairy guy. :)

Which one are you on twitter?
